Clobetazole as a strong local corticosteroid is indicated for adults, the elderly and children over 1 year of age for the short-term treatment of only resistant inflammatory and itchy dermatoses resistant to less active corticosteroids.
Such dermatoses include the following:
Psoriasis (excluding common plaque psoriasis);
Resistant dermatoses;
Red lichen planus;
Discoid lupus erythematosus;
Other skin conditions that do not respond satisfactorily to less active steroids.
Red acne, common acne, and perioral dermatitis.
Primary skin viral infections (for example, herpes simplex, chickenpox). Hypersensitivity to the drug.
The use of Klobeford cream is contraindicated for the treatment of primary infected skin lesions caused by a fungal infection (for example, candidiasis, shingles), or microbial infection (for example, impetigo), perianal and genital pruritis, or dermatosis in children under the age of one year, including dermatitis and skin irritation from diapers. Long-term continuous use of topical therapy should be avoided if possible, especially in children and adolescents, due to adrenal suppression.
